Slide Hampton Comes To Whitewater

On May 4-6 The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will host a residency and concert by the great Slide Hampton. The event will be titled: "Inclusion" in honor of his CD of the same name, Mr. Hampton's gracious philosophies, and his important role as one of today's premier jazz trombone mentors. This appearance by Slide will also include six of the top collegiate jazz trombonists from around the country who will be writing new works for trombone band and rhythm section. These students will be featured on their pieces in a master class setting with Slide. Mr. Hampton will be also be conducting a clinic and will be featured on the main concert that takes place on Monday, May 5.
