Write-by-the-Lake Writers' Workshop & Retreat, June 18-22, 2007
Sponsored by UW-Madison Liberal Studies and the Arts, and th Department of English

1-3 graduate credits (credit fees extra)

Held at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., Classroom hours:  9:30-12:30 Monday through Friday; you have two weeks to finish writing projects on your own time following the week of class.

This retreat offers instruction on 12 topics this year. You choose one to study for the week:  mystery/suspense, creating characters that drive stories, writing a first novel, women's fiction, writing for children, writing from life/memoir, writing for a living/freelance journalism, plotting fiction, short fiction, poetry, novel revision, and a new section on to get started with your writing.

Offers lots of handouts to take home to your classroom or group. Optional workshops allow you to get to know all twelve instructors and learn tips from their specialties as well.
