This is an excellent review of many different typing programs that can be used to enhance teaching children touch typing.  Some of the features that she feels are important for a typing program to be good are:  age appropriate; flexibility and the ability to adjust to a child's needs; appealing graphics; content excitement; choices in lesson material; visual demonstrations of typing techniques; verbal instructions; feedback for missed keystrokes; visuals for remainders and corrections; verbal reinforcement for what the child should type, when they hesitate; does the program self-adjust, repeating problem keystrokes when the child makes mistakes; is customization of goals a feature; is accuracy emphasized; are there ways to develop rhythm; how is proficiency learned; can the learner apply keyboarding skills in a variety of contexts; and can you print your work.

She also gives prices, the format it is offered in (IBM or Mac), and how it is available (on floppy disk or CD ROM).
