MUSIC
I'm a kind of person who only pays attention
to "easy listening" rows in a music shop.
My friends keep on telling me that I can only see one side of
the MUSIC. Whatever it is, the MUSIC is an indispensable part of my
"routine life" . My favorite genres are Latin, R/B and pop. Some of my favorite singers and groups are Marc Anthony, Tony Braxton, Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson, Maria Carey, Celine Dion, ABBA, and Steps. I love those songs that remind me about the places I have been, the stories I have read, the people I have met. After all, "what would life be without a song or a dance, what are we?" (Thank you for the music, ABBA).
MOVIES
I don't really recall since when movie has been added to my list of interests. But I do remember, I have spent days and nights reading all I could about movies when I started doing my Master thesis - a recommender system in movie domain. I even have written a short essay about Men and Women' Movie Preferences. My favotire genres are comedy/romantics and drama. My all time favorite movies are Titanic (a huge hit in 1997), Sleepless in Seattle (staring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks), My Best Friend's Wedding (staring Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz), Someone Like You (staring Asley Judd), Sweet Home Alabama, The First Wives Club, and Erin Brockovich.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
I came to the University of Connecticut (UCONN) in 1999, shortly after the UCONN's men basketball team defeated Duke in a thriller to claim the school's first NCAA championship title. But it is the women basketball team which makes me become a huge fan. They play as a team with a lot of guts to win. I love to watch the games on TV with my kids when time permits. I sometimes brought them to Gampel Pavillion to join the crowd for Super Show. I love the court vision of Sue Bird (now playing for Seattle Storm), the tiredlessly intense of Diana Taurasi (now playing for Phoenix Mercury and she is considered as the best women basketball ever), and the work ethic of Emeka Okafor (now playing for Charlotte Bobcats). I love watching rivaly games such as UCONN-DUKE (men) and UCONN-TENNESSE (women). Most of the time, these games become thrillers that I hardly forget.
