Five questions that I get on a regular basis:
This started as an internal thing, but it's true. I can call myself the Library Guy because I'm the only male reference librarian. This shouldn't really come as any surprise, as I work in a predominately female work force.

Having said that, I am taking classes that will eventually use when I apply to go back for an MBA degree. So I may turn up in a class for more than just a little library introduction.
You bet. You learn more than just how to catalog a book or answer questions. There's actually theory behind librarianship, and we learn that in grad school. Many people aren't aware of all of the different abilities of librarians. Ask one sometime, you'd be amazed.

Besides, in my opinion, the librarian stereotype is not really applicable anymore. LIS is a very exciting profession and it is attracting people from all walks of life. Just check out the facebook group.
I chose librarianship because I feel that it was a way to combine my interest in business, the Spanish language and libraries all in one. I'm not using my Spanish at this very moment, but I've got the rest of my career to work in that aspect.
