UW-Whitewater World Languages & Cultures Day 2012

Our first annual
World Languages & Cultures Day
will take place on
Friday, 10 FEBRUARY 2012.

The Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is hosting its first annual World Languages & Cultures Day on Friday, February 10, 2012. We would be honored to have you and your students participate. As our guests, you will have the opportunity to see Whitewater’s campus and facilities and explore all of the languages offered at UW-Whitewater, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish, in a fun, collegiate setting.

This event is different from the Language Day that we’ve held in the past in that the events are more cultural and experiential in nature and not competition-based. World Languages & Cultures Day will not only highlight the diverse languages offered but will also focus on the rich cultural elements of each language.  The format will move away from the previous competition-based formula and instead, will be organized like a conference offering concurrent language-specific sessions allowing students to explore a variety of language and cultural activities.

Please see our Letter of Invitation for further details.
