THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF JANE AUSTEN SCHOLARS HOMEPAGE

Updated 5 November 2000

Visitors since July, 1997.

We are a society, loosely bound, of people who have an interest in Jane Austen studies. We come generally from university settings, from faculty offices, or graduate student offices, or libraries, or classrooms. We would like to have a forum broader perhaps than those currently available, specifically one that welcomes and fosters interdisciplinary studies and work that uses theoretical approaches possibly not most acceptable in more traditional media.

Our society has two electronic publications: J.A. NEws, which has less scholarly information, calls for papers, and the like; and The Austen Quarterly, which publishes articles, letters, reviews and annotated bibliographies, among other things. Old issues are archived when the ASJAS pages are updated. Sometimes this happens biannually; often updates occur less regularly.

If you send email via our application page, we will place you on our mailing list, and you will be notified by mail when updates occur.

Thanks for visiting the ASJAS society homepage.
