An outstanding site created by Charles W. Bailey, Jr. of the University of Houston Libraries. The site covers such topics as scholarly electronic publishing resources, SGML and related standards, cataloging, classification, and metadata , electronic books and texts, general electronic publishing, legal, electronic serials, digital libraries preservation, images, and a bibliography.
SPARC - The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition Association of Research Libraries

A web site for a coalition of libraries that fosters expanded competition in scholarly communication. The organization " .... creates "partnerships" with publishers who are developing high quality, economical alternatives to existing high-priced publications."
Society for Scholarly Publishing
Their purpose is to promote and advance scholarly communications among all sectors of the scholarly publication community through networking, information dissemination and facilitation of new developments in the field.
