Announcements:

Sorry, I am not teaching this course this semester.

This verison of Psych 331 is a FACE-TO-FACE (F2F) class that uses D2L (a web system used for many other UWW classes). If you are officially registered for the course on WINS, you are automatically enrolled on the course's D2L site.

To access the D2L course site, go to the UWW home page and click on D2L in the menu on the left side of the page. Login using your net id (the same one you use for email), then click on Psychology of Childhood under My Whitewater Courses. This takes you to the announcements page of our course.

MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE COURSE HOME PAGE REGULARLY FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS, SCHEDULE CHANGES, AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION since I'll be revising and adding information and materials throughout the semester.

It's a good idea to take a few minutes and explore the course site on D2L. Make sure you can open and read the documents that are posted (e.g., the Syllabus and information about the project; Powerpoint files, both instructor and publisher; discussion boards; etc.).  If you have trouble opening or downloading files, let me know.

A WORD ABOUT SOFTWARE:  Please use MSWord to create any course documents that you'll be sending me electronically (e.g., for the electronic copy of the project you must turn in, for dropbox files, email attachments, etc.). Sometimes I can open and read files created in other word processing software (try saving them as .txt files), but often it doesn't work.  You can turn in any assignments, extra credits, etc. as hardcopy in class, but you are required to submit an electronic copy of the project (see the FAQ file posted on the D2L course site).

Required Textbook:

Child Development: Principles and Perspectives (2nd edition), by J.L. Cook & G. Cook, 2009, Allyn & Bacon Publishers.    This textbook is available for rental in the University Bookstore.
