Announcements:
Sorry, I am not teaching
this course this semester.
This course
examines how people influence and are affected by their
social worlds from the perspectives of anthropology, psychology,
sociology, and women’s studies. The course focuses on how we experience
life as individuals and as members of cultural systems that shape our
personalities, behavior and perceptions of the world.
Individual and
Society
is offered in the departments of Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology,
and Women's Studies. All offerings address a set of common goals, yet
each department is suited to particular strengths, providing a unique
perspective on the reciprocal influence of individuals and the societies
in which we live. The course in Psychology focuses on individual
behavior in relation to other people and the greater social world.
This course may not be taken on an S/NC grade basis.
