This course
is required for students enrolled in the School Psychology Master's
Program at UWW.
The course
introduces theories of and research on learning as it
takes place within educational contexts, helps students gain an
understanding of problems that may hinder learning within these
contexts, and encourages students to think about how school
psychologists can foster learning within educational contexts.
The course emphasizes recent theoretical
perspectives rather than traditional behaviorist theories. We emphasize
use
of
the theories and research by school psychologists working in
instructional contexts. The class format is predominantly class
discussion, student group work, and individual student project
development.
